Volution: A Translinear Theory of Life (Merry Musings 5)

It kind of blew my mind when it first dawned on me that linear time is not a fixed quality of the universe but is actually quite a recent invention of the human mind. We spent nearly three million years living life directly in the present in the context of natural cycles. It was only a few thousand years ago that linearity entered our perspective. We have now reached a point in development where we need to re-evaluate that linear perspective and re-balance it with the cyclical. Evolution (and involution) are both products of linear thinking. New science is showing that life actually breathes and spins more like a pulsing torus than climbs the rungs of a ladder. This Merry Musing on Volution explores what that perspective looks like when you apply it to our individual and collective life process.
